Delightful little cafe. As they say about themselves, cosy, quaint, and homely

On our recent trip to Northumberland, our family of four decided to visit Warkworth and the Topsey Turvey. It is a delightful little cafe with a mix of traditional British and cafe dishes as well as a wide variety of cakes, tarts, and other sweets. I had the steak and kidney pudding which was delicious. My wife went for the leek and potato soup and a salad, my son for the sausage, gravy & chips, and my daughter for the corned beef pie - and there were no complaints and little conversation until plates began to empty. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert and our plan to come back for afters came to naught.

The service was sweet and attentive and as I said the atmosphere is cosy, quaint, and (it must be admitted) a little bit homely. Come for lunch or come for an afternoon tea and cake but do come.

A popular cafe of the main street in the height of the season there are always people lined up outside this place to get a good meal. They also do take away snacks. The cakes are very rich and filling. The sausage rolls decidly average. Undetired on another trip we went to sit in this time. The food that came was enormous. They serve some delicate options but in winter you tend to go for big servings. I had a nice country home made soup but my fella had the roast dinner and I dont think you could have gotten more on a plate. The service was okay and the place doesnt look fantastic inside. Too many tables and cheap decor but the food is really hearty
